Egress Well Cover

Installation Instructions

Place the Egress Dome over the well. Push it tight against the house. If the cover doesn’t t symmetrically, the steel well

may be bent out of shape. Use a sledge hammer to tap the well to allow the cover to t.

Once properly tted, place the cover back over the egress well.

Be sure to center the cover on your well. Using a dry-erase marker,

mark the locations where you will attach your clips. The holes

should be marked at the center of the rim of your well. (See Figure A)

Remove the cover from your well and drill a 3/16” hole

at each marked location

Mount the clips to your cover using the cap nut and bolt provided.

Tighten the screw until there is about 1/4” of space in the spring clip. (See Figure B)

(Warning: Do not over-tighten the spring clip)

Snap the cover onto the rim of your well. Adjust the spring clip tension as needed by

loosening or tightening the cap nuts so the cover stays securely in place, but remains

removable for cleaning and emergency exit.

Note: On U-Shaped and other less common egress wells, there may only be

enough space to install one tension clip on each side and one in the front

center (See gure C).

Note the edges of the cover may overlap a bit more on u-shaped and other wells.

This t is considered acceptable as long as there is a minimum of 2-3 tension

clips installed.
